Summary[]
Mike and Cristen are sent to live with their grandfather in a retirement community -- and soon find out that everyone there is out for their blood (literally) and that their grandfather may be a bloodsucker.

- This is Chanelle Peloso's second time on The Haunting Hour, after Brush with Madness
- Mary Black previously appeared in Flight.
- This is the second time Christopher Lloyd appears in an R.L. Stine project, the first being the 2001 TV movie When Good Ghouls Go Bad.
- The sign in front of the retirement home reads "For the twilight of your life", a reference to the Twilight franchise.
- Neil Fearnly was nominated for a Leo Award for this episode.
- According to writer Erik Patterson, this episode started as a regular one but became a two parter because they felt they had so much story to tell.
- He also said that Christoper Lloyd accepted the role because he was excited at the idea of playing a vampire.
- Showrunner/writer Dan Angel has a cameo as the Bingo Announcer. He's the guy who says "It's bingo time with Shirley". Billy Brown has a cameo during the scene where they are outside and meet Shirley for the first time.
- R.L. Stine has stated that this is one of his favorites.
- Given werewolves also live around the area, its possible the vampires have had their help with covering up all the victims they've sucked dry; some could be in jobs that can help cover up this issue by faking Information and setting up bogus crime scenes. Gladys being dumb enough to target Harold's GRANDCHILDREN shows she had gotten too complacent with how things went so far.
