History[]

According to Chi when he was telling the story about the statue while Chad and him were fishing. It said that she was called Maria and she was the most beautiful girl in the whole village and she knew it. Every man wanted to marry her but she wasn't intrested not until Lan Canroa a cowboy came and swept her of her feet. So they got married and she gave birth to two kids and it was a happy life and was great from the start. But then it all changed when her husband got bored of her and started going out of town and barely came back home at all and nobody cared about how Maria was beautiful anymore. And this angered her and she couldn't handle it and a rage built up inside of her. "Sleep my child, sleep now", that was the last of what the villagers that heard from her humming the lullaby as she walked her children down to the river. To punish her husband she drowned her own children. When she realized what she had done she was horrified at what she done. She ran up and down crying for for children but they weren't there anymore. Then she killed herself (Drowned herself) because of guilt and is said that her spirit still roams around river at night crying looking for her lost children at least that's what the children call her own. And that's she got her name La Llorona, "The Weeping Woman". And is said that you must never look at her or show her sympathy or she'll drown you right into the river.
